The study investigates the impact of sleep deprivation on short-term memory function, positing that lack of sleep significantly impairs memory performance. Conducted with 25 college students, the research involved two memory tests based on the Digit Span Task, administered at the start and end of the week. Participants maintained sleep diaries to track their sleep hours, as sleep deprivation was non-induced for ethical reasons. Results confirmed that reduced sleep correlates with diminished short-term memory capabilities, supporting the initial hypothesis.
