Nicky Nielsen is universitair docent Online Egyptologie aan de Universiteit van Manchester, waar hij doceert in de programma's Certificate, Diploma, Short Courses en MA Egyptology. Oorspronkelijk uit Denemarken, ontving Nicky een AHRC Block Grant om promotieonderzoek te doen aan de Universiteit van Liverpool, waarbij hij strategieën voor levensonderhoud en ambachtelijke productie onderzocht op de Ramessidische vestingplaats Zawiyet Umm el-Rakham. Hij heeft opgegraven in Europa, Turkije en Egypte en is momenteel projectleider van het Tell Nabasha Survey Project van de Universiteit van Liverpool. Hij is fellow van de Higher Education Academy. Naast een reeks wetenschappelijke artikelen publiceerde Nicky onlangs 'Pharaoh Seti I: Father of Egyptian Greatness'.
