Haar werk is diep geïnspireerd door een levenslange passie voor punkmuziek en het maken van fanzines. Oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Miami, Florida, woont ze nu met haar gezin in Chicago, waar ze ook werkt als bibliothecaris aan een community college.
