      Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) is a difficulty with the brain's interpretation of sounds. It is not a hearing impairment. The book looks at the various theories which give rise to a diagnosis of APD. Although awareness and research of APD has been chiefly carried out in the USA, it is now increasingly becoming acknowledged in the UK.
