Temi is a bright young girl who knows that hard work is the only way she can succeed and achieve anything independent of the strong patriarchal culture she is born into. Nigeria in the 1960s is developing fast but tradition and family is still the driving force behind life. Temi has ideas about what she wants to do with her life and is aware that she needs to successfully navigate the many hazards and issues which can befall a young woman before she can realise her goals (many of which she witnesses her friends and acquaintances succumb to). As she grows into an independent young woman, Temi always tries to keep the balance between what's expected of her and what she wants. She always hoped she would fall in love, but can she reconcile the two to get the happy ending she has always dreamt of?
