Originally vernacular poetic guides, these texts were continually revised from the early fourteenth to the sixteenth century by various figures, including bards and humanists. The author provides a detailed textual analysis of these revisions, contextualizing them within the historical landscape, thereby illuminating the development of Welsh literary and scholarly traditions over two centuries.
