Focusing on the Late Dynastic Period, this volume delves into the ceramic artifacts discovered at the Saqqara Anubis temple, shedding light on burial practices from the mid-6th century BC. It details the transition from earlier shaft tombs to a new cemetery and the construction of a temple dedicated to Anubis, which faced periods of abandonment and revival. The ceramics analyzed include bowls used by embalmers, offering vessels, and items linked to the builders of the fourth century, providing valuable insights into ancient Egyptian rituals and craftsmanship.

This volume is the first of a series on the ceramics from the Egypt Exploration Society's excavations in the Anubieion at Saqqara. The desert edge overlooking the Nile Valley was intensively used for two and a half millenia before its selection as the site of the mainly Ptolemaic temple.
