Piotr Załuski, born on January 1, 1945, in Lublin, is a graduate of Polish studies from the University of Wrocław (1969) and the National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź (1978). Until 1974, he was an actor, playwright, literary manager, and director of the Student Theatre "Kalambur" in Wrocław. Since 1967, he has worked as a journalist and vision producer for Wrocław television, creating documentaries and reports. During the "Solidarity" period, he co-founded and chaired the NSZZ "Solidarity" TVP Wrocław Workplace Commission and was a member of the National Coordinating Commission of RiTV NSZZ "S" and the Polish Journalists Association Council. Following the declaration of martial law, he was interned from December 13, 1981, to June 2, 1982, and later emigrated to Germany, where he worked for 12 years as a journalist and director at the Polish Section of Radio Free Europe in Munich. He commented on events and hosted programs, focusing on socio-cultural topics. Załuski also collaborated with Polish Radio in Wrocław and taught film and television studies at the University of Wrocław from 1998 to 2008. He has authored several works, including a book on Adam Mickiewicz, a historical novel, and memoirs reflecting on his experiences in Poland and Europe.
