Rene H. Levy Boeken

René H. Levy, PhD, Professor Emeritus aan de Universiteit van Washington, wijdde zijn academische carrière aan neurowetenschap en epilepsieonderzoek, waarbij hij meer dan 300 wetenschappelijke artikelen publiceerde. Later kanaliseerde hij deze expertise naar het schrijven van de boeken "Baseless Hatred: What It Is and What You Can Do About It" en "Mending America's Political Divide". In zijn meest recente werk duikt Levy dieper in de psychologische en sociale barrières die politieke polarisatie voeden, en biedt hij lezers inzichten en een praktisch actieplan om maatschappelijke verdeeldheid te navigeren en te verzachten. Zijn schrijven is erop gericht begrip te bevorderen en constructieve dialoog te stimuleren te midden van politieke onenigheden.

Baseless Hatred
Reflects on the phenomenon of baseless hatred, focusing on such hatred amongst Jews themselves and directed by non-Jews toward Jews, both in Israel and in the Diaspora. Ch. 6 (pp. 107-125), "The 'Palestinian Issue': Land Dispute or Islamist Hatred?", and ch. 7 (pp. 127-139), "Western Hostility: The New Antisemitism" deal with hatred of non-Jews toward the people of Israel. Considers the Islamists as the main force behind the growing antisemitism worldwide today. Surmises that, in order to withstand this hatred, the Jews have to put an end to the baseless hatred amongst themselves and unite.
