Rabbiner Barbara Aiello is de oprichtster van de B'nei Anusim-beweging in Zuid-Italië en directeur van het IjCC (Het Italiaans-Joods Cultureel Centrum van Calabrië). Haar werk helpt mensen met een Italiaanse achtergrond hun Joodse wortels te ontdekken en te omarmen. Aiello is ook de rabbijn van Ner Tamid del Sud, de eerste actieve synagoge in Calabrië in 500 jaar sinds de Inquisitie.
