Focusing on suicide prevention among the elderly, this study analyzes data from 25 patients over 60 who attempted suicide in the North area of Sancti Spíritus from 2020 to 2022. It identifies key demographics, revealing a predominance of female patients aged 65-69, often housewives, divorced or separated, and with a high school education. The research highlights significant psychosocial risk factors, including impulsivity and major depression, leading to the development of a psychoeducational strategy aimed at preventing suicide attempts in this vulnerable population.

Este estudio observacional se centró en proponer una estrategia psicoeducativa para prevenir el intento suicida en adultos mayores en Sancti Spíritus (2020-2022). Se identificó que la mayoría de los pacientes eran mujeres de 65 a 69 años, con antecedentes de divorcio y un nivel educativo medio, destacando factores de riesgo como la impulsividad y la depresión.
