Focusing on the Rwandan educational landscape, this study examines how complex situations in science teaching can enhance student performance and equity. It reveals that implementing these methods leads to improved scores and narrows the achievement gap between low and high-performing students. The research highlights the potential of African oral traditions—like tales and proverbs—as valuable pedagogical tools to culturally contextualize learning, supporting the shift from traditional knowledge transmission to skill development essential for Rwanda's emerging economy.
