In "Durance Vile," three characters navigate their separate lives: Randy Crocker, a burger joint owner unaware of his daughter's drug dealing; Cath Shapeero, a Ph.D. student whose life changes after meeting a carefree researcher; and Garland Mathers Ouwerx, a boy who loses his family and struggles to find himself in San Francisco. Their paths never cross.
