Amazingly, the author creates a world of fictional characters and stories, while staying away from becoming infected with the virus. During his journey he learns of his ancestors and country's deep secrets which forever changes the outcome of his mission. The burden to restore his world weighs heavy on the young prince, forcing him to grow up fast. Disappointment and victory intertwine in this novelistic journey. When reading this novel, you will be able to understand how a higher force can influence people to a higher standard of commitment. The residents of this world demonstrate their willingness to live and die for each other, and for freedom. The reader can comprehend the devotion of its characters towards life as they submit to the ultimate sacrifice. Tragedy meets love, and commitment becomes the central focus of existence. For the characters in this story, there is a certain reality in that life is precious, and it can be taken away at any moment. The enemy, whose goal is to permanently end Galbothia's way of life, does not hide its boldness to overtake the world. This leads to a show of deadly force exhibited by the invaders.

Cooking recipes from a Latina woman who throughout her life won the hearts of people with her cooking. The author provides Maria's cooking recipes and in doing so the reader gets to know the response from the people who ate her food. She was a mother, a wife, and a wonderful human being. She left behind an unprofaned inheritance of cooking recipes which in her lifetime she passed on to others. Her son, the author, provides an insight into the culture of his upbringing through her cooking. In this novel the audience can obtain her cooking recipes to be able to cook the way she did. Her love as a housewife, a mother and feeding people with her food fulfilled heart-warming memories to those who knew her. The reading provides a legacy through the cooking hands of a woman who took pride in serving and taking care of others. Those who knew her and ate her food called her, "Mami," or "Mommy."
