Eiríkr Magnússon Boeken

Eiríkur Magnússon was een IJslandse wetenschapper en vertaler die fungeerde als bibliothecaris aan de Universiteit van Cambridge. In samenwerking met William Morris produceerde hij de eerste Engelstalige vertaling van de Völsunga-saga. Zijn werk droeg aanzienlijk bij aan de verspreiding van de Noorse literatuur en mythologie in de Engelssprekende wereld. Magnússons nauwgezette aanpak en diepgaande kennis van het Oudnoors zorgden voor de nauwkeurigheid en de literaire waarde van zijn vertalingen.
