This is the third collection of poetry by this author, following on from 'Poetry of Love, Life and Loss' and 'Barrie's Ballads and Miscellaneous Musings.' 'Holding On' is a look back on the lessons learned during the author's 80 years, reflecting on the morality and complexities of the modern world. As the title suggests the author is very aware of his increasingly tenuous hold on life but displays no bitterness at his approaching end. He evaluates his own life, his experience of love, friendship, and the challenges of getting old. A number of humorous ballads are included which hide some moral truths.
