A short piece this one, but it is packed with valuable teaching points. It is a dance in D minor that introduces 16th notes and two-note slurs, some of which include string crossings. Upper strings use low 1s and 2s, cellos low 1s, and basses half position. A more lyric theme combines with the opening idea for a dramatic ending.

Grade 3 fun for two players, perfect for recruiting or end of year recitals. Twinkle morphs through major, minor, arpeggiated, and chromatic variations. The viola and cello versions are compatible.
