Laziness has a bad reputation. It conjures the image of a couch potato. It's treated as a character flaw. But laziness has a certain wisdom: the ability to self-regulate, to resist over-functioning, to choose sustainability. As Psalm 127 observes, "It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil."
