Referencing mythical, historical, literary and spiritual imagery, Horn invokes these bodily concerns with such objects as violins, ladders, pianos, feather fans, metronomes and drawing machines. She is best known for such works as "Pencil Mask" (1972), which looks like an instrument of torture, but which actually transforms the wearer's head into an instrument for drawing.

Daniel Spoerri was a co-signatory of the Nouveau Réalisme manifesto in 1960, an early member of Fluxus and the author of the classic Anecdoted Topography of Chance, which recorded and annotated the contents of Spoerri's desk. In 1968 Spoerri also opened Restaurant Spoerri, introducing his concept of Eat Art, which he had initiated a decade earlier, and which explored the creation, decay and trapping of food upon tables that were then recapitulated as assemblages. Marking the occasion of the artist's eightieth birthday, Daniel Spoerri: Eaten By approaches the theme of food throughout Spoerri's oeuvre, from the early 1960s to the present. It includes the artist's replica of the Restaurant Spoerri, a survey of Spoerri's trap pictures from 1978 to 1992, and a large number of more recent assemblages and sculptures, bringing his audience fully up to date.

David Hockney (born 1937 in Bradford) is one of the most influential and technically versatile artists living today. Unschärfe und kompositorische Qualitäten steigern den malerischen Wert der Werke. Künstler wie Elger Esser und Jörg Sasse sehen sich als „Bildermacher“, während bei Thomas Struth eine sachliche Perzeption von Landschaft vorherrscht. Stattdessen erzeugt die Ausstellung beim Betrachter emotionale Empfindungen wie Überwältigung und Melancholie. This volume gathers Rainer Ganahl's numerous works devoted to Alfred Jarry, the playwright, novelist, avid cyclist and chief theorist of Pataphysics. Ganahl, in whose art bicycles are a recurrent motif, here presents a series of staged photographs of himself with a bike, costumed as Jarry, as well as Jarry-related sculptures and drawings, weaving a semi-fictitious portrait of the great man.

Das Kunstforum Wien zeigt im Frühjahr 2008 eine große Ausstellung zum Thema der abstrakten Malerei. Der zeitliche Bogen spannt sich von den Pionieren der Moderne (wie Malewitsch, Kandinsky und Mondrian) über die Protagonisten des Abstrakten Expressionismus (Rothko, de Kooning) bis hin zu den aktuellen Positionen (Richter, Marden, Scully). Die Ausstellung entwickelt sich in unterschiedlichen Strängen, die sowohl entwicklungsgeschichtliche als auch stilistische und formalästhetische Kriterien beleuchten. Die Auswahl der Werke konzentriert sich dabei auf die sensitive Kraft des 'Malerischen' innerhalb des klassischen Bildgevierts. Die Ausstellung wirft auch einen Blick auf die Situation der zeitgenössischen abstrakten Malerei in Österreich und versucht, ihrer Bedeutung im 'internationalen Kontext' nachzugehen.
