There are over 2,000 articles contained within 400 key entries covering all major areas of knowledge. Over 3500 illustrations, including photographs, pictorial maps, diagrams and charts. Each page has been designed to integrate text, and illustrations are arranged alphabetically with a cross-referencing system and index.
A chronology running throughout the book begins with the last Ice Age and Neanderthal Man and ends with the major political events of the decade.
