Těžištěm svazku je přednáškový cyklus z roku 1933, ve kterém španělský filosof podnikl jeden z vůbec prvních pokusů o teoretické uchopení techniky a jejího vztahu k člověku. V dalších esejích se Ortega y Gasset vyjadřuje k pozdnímu Heideggerovi, s nímž se setkal na kolokviu v Darmstadtu, k filosofickému stylu, k architektuře či k teoretickým problémům fyziky. Přeložil M.
