It highlights their seamless integration of various forms, from unique rooflights to major housing projects, and emphasizes their focus on imagination over mere aesthetics. The book features visual narratives, personal insights from the artists, an essay by Hans Ibelings, and a foreword by Adriaan Geuze.

The work of Team V Architecture is informed by the confidence in architecture’s incontrovertibility. The studio was founded 6 ¼ years ago and now celebrates its first 25 quarters. On this occasion, the book offers the first overview on its architectural practice. The projects cover a broad spectrum from interior to urban design. Hans Ibelings is an acclaimed architectural critic and historian. He is author of a number of books and has been the editor and publisher of The Architecture Observer since 2012. Amsterdam-based Team V Architecture was founded in 2013 by Jeroen van Schooten, Do Janne Vermeulen, and Gerard van Hoorn.

Výstava „Estetika udržitelné architektury“ v Galerii Jaroslava Fragnera (Praha 2020) se zaměřuje na vývoj udržitelnosti od roku 2008, kdy proběhla podobná výstava „Zelená architektura.CZ“. Prezentuje více než 60 příkladů českých i zahraničních realizací, které pokrývají různé kategorie, jako jsou individuální a hromadné bydlení, školní, komerční a průmyslové budovy, veřejné prostory, krajinářské návrhy, nové využití brownfieldů a velké urbanistické celky. Cílem je ukázat, že principy udržitelnosti mohou být součástí architektonického díla bez ztráty estetických kvalit. Úvodní teoretické studie se zabývají různými aspekty udržitelnosti. Petr Kratochvíl zkoumá, zda je udržitelnost specifickým rysem architektury, nebo základní podmínkou dobrého designu. Hans Ibelings volá po nové interpretaci architektury, která zohledňuje historické reakce na negativní environmentální dopady. Jana Tywoniak shrnuje technická řešení a politické dokumenty EU, které by měly podpořit pozitivní změny. Petra Kroppa se věnuje systémům veřejné dopravy šetrným k životnímu prostředí, čerpajíc ze zkušeností z Nizozemska. Dan Merta rekapituluje předchozí výstavy v Galerii Jaroslava Fragnera, které reflektovaly témata udržitelné architektury a představuje významné realizace a tvůrce.

Aus dem explosionsartigen Wachstum der Städte in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts entwickelte sich eine ganz spezifische europäische Architektur, deren Charakteristika sich bis heute zeigen. Sie ist vor allem durch den Willen der Architekten geprägt, in ihren Entwürfen auch die gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen der jeweiligen Zeit zu re- flektieren, ob in der schlichten Eleganz des Bauhauses, wo die Suche nach „Licht, Luft und Sonne“ für alle Gestalt fand, ob in den kraftstrotzenden kommunistischen Repräsentationsbauten, die den arbeitenden Massen als Vorbilder dienen sollten oder im Dekonstruktivismus eines Guggenheim-Museums in Bilbao, in dem sich die Brüche und Verwerfungen unserer eigenen Gegenwart spiegeln. Dieser umfassend illustrierte Band bietet einen großartigen Überblick über die zentralen Entwicklungslinien der gesamten europäischen Architektur vom Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts bis in die Gegenwart.
