The main topics of the book relate to dyslexia with some new perspectives on this old phenomenon, to traumatic experiences, to intervention methods and to some special methodical problems, particularly in qualitative research methods.

The book contains selected interdisciplinary contributions from the international workshop Historical and Cross-Cultural Aspects of Psychology, held in Leipzig in 2009. It intertwines basic research with applied work to promote scientific exchange between different countries and the different branches of psychology.
