Aspects of the Slavic middle ages and Slavic renaissance culture

This text contains a collection of essays focusing on cultural and social life in the urban centers of Kiev, Novgorod, Moscow, Cracow, and Dubrovnik. In addition, Slavic religious and secular texts are examined and relevant scholarship is critically reassessed. The period covered extends from the early Middle Ages through the beginnings of the Baroque.
