This book constructs an economic theory that can be studied like the I Ching, featuring multiple patterns within a cohesive whole. It encompasses various components, each representing a consistent unity. Central to my economic theory are concepts such as endogenous population, capital, knowledge, preferences, the sexual division of labor, consumption, institutions, economic structures, and exchange values across time and space. The process of systematizing these ideas has been long and laborious, involving the formulation of a grand vision in the sense of Schumpeter, alongside the search for and creation of numerous ideas, of which only a few have endured. Completing this book is a culmination of these efforts. I recall Schumpeter's belief that new ideas must be meticulously elaborated, defended, and promoted to gain traction, as well as Keynes' insight that the challenge lies not in generating new ideas but in breaking free from entrenched old ones. Additionally, Confucius emphasized the significance of timing in the advancement of principles. I completed this work at the Swedish Institute for Futures Studies and am grateful for the supportive environment fostered by its staff, particularly acknowledging Professor Ake E. Andersson, my Ph.D. supervisor.
