Administrative and court proceedings often require support from foreign authorities or courts for tasks such as document service, evidence gathering, or cross-border actions against international criminals. This need is particularly pronounced in the Baltic Sea region, known for its strong economic ties among bordering states. This volume compiles updated contributions in both German and English from a conference held in Kiel by the University Network “Law in the Baltic Sea Area,” focusing on administrative and judicial assistance in the region. The contributions explore cross-border cooperation across administrative, civil, and criminal law, aiming to highlight both the commonalities and differences in international justice and administrative cooperation. By examining experiences from these various sectors, the volume seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the collaborative frameworks that exist within the Baltic Sea area, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of legal processes across borders.
