The First International Conference on Digital Forensics and Cyber Crime (ICDF2C) took place in Albany from September 30 to October 2, 2009. The opening day included a plenary session with notable figures such as George Philip, President of the University at Albany, Harry Corbit, Superintendent of New York State Police, and William Pelgrin, Director of the New York State Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination. A standout keynote by Miklos Vasarhelyi addressed continuous auditing, followed by parallel sessions on accounting fraud and multimedia forensics. The second day showcased a captivating keynote by Nitesh Dhanjani from Ernst and Young, focusing on psychological profiling through open source intelligence from social networks. The final day offered both basic and advanced tutorials on open source forensics.
