Meer over het boek

In the West, philosophical attention to computation and computational devices is at least as old as Leibniz. But since the early 1940s, electronic computers have evolved from a few machines filling several rooms to widely diffused – indeed, ubiquitous – devices, ranging from networked desktops, laptops, smartphones and “the internet of things.” The purpose of the International Association for Computing and Philosophy is to advance the philosophical study of computing and to advance uses of computing that have philosophical significance. The International Association for Computing and Philosophy (IACAP) exists to promote scholarly dialogue and research on all aspects of the computational and informational turn, and on the use of information and communication technologies in the service of philosophy. The IACAP 2011 takes place from 4-6 July 2011 at the Aarhus University, Denmark.
