Nerites inhabit diverse environments worldwide, from marine to freshwater and arboreal settings in tropical to temperate regions. This two-volume set offers a comprehensive examination of nearly 300 nerite species in the family Neritidae, along with an extensive look at related families and fossil species. Each recent species is thoroughly described and illustrated with full-page color plates showcasing shell and operculum details, as well as variations in structure and color/pattern. Volume two focuses on genera such as Neritina, Neritodryas, and Theodoxus, and includes six related families: Helicinidae, Hydrocenidae, Neritiliidae, Neritopsidae, Phenacolepadidae, and Titiscaniidae. It features several appendices, including valid species lists, an index, a glossary, bibliography, and errata. Numerous new species are introduced and illustrated for the first time, addressing the frequent misidentification of nerites by dealers and collectors. New taxa include Neritina janetabbasae n. sp., Neritodryas javanica n. sp., and others. This work serves as a valuable resource for understanding and identifying these unique mollusks.
