A large number of ships sailing the ocean had encountered a particular object-endlessly long, shaped like a spindle and much larger and faster than even the biggest whale. It was even reported to glow! A strange marine object captures the attention of the world. Professor Pierre Arronax and his loyal servant Conseil board the Abraham Lincoln in order to hunt down this creature. There they meet the famous harpooner Ned Land. They are accidentally flung off the ship and find each other in the open sea. They desperately grasp hold of the same creature they were hunting and find it to be a submarine. The three men are then captured and brought inside the vessel, where they meet its enigmatic creator and commander, Captain Nemo. How do they survive?
