Badlands depicts Mallorca, the home of the photographer Tomeu Coll as he sees it. The scenes in his partially autobiographical pictures take place in the hinterland of the island. Far away from mass tourism and yet just a stone's throw away from where droves of tourists arrive on a daily basis, one will not find this region of the island in official images, in tourist guides, or on postcards.
