When Vanessa West and her mother Marion travel to Ashagiri, the Indian hill town where Marion grew up, they embark on a journey in search of the past. They find Ashagiri, nestled in the mountains, still enveloped by blue skies and clouds, still dotted with prayer flags and temples. The Ashagiri Club is still open, with its oak-panelled billiard rooms and eccentric residents. Dreaming Rock, where Marion played with her school friends, is as beautiful and remote. But time has taken the Ashagiri of Marion's memories and transformed it.
