Spain’s 'wild coast' is a prime holiday destination on the Iberian Peninsula, distinguished by its relatively untouched beauty compared to other tourist regions. While hotel developments and busy beaches exist, much of the Costa Brava retains its pristine natural landscapes, featuring coastal cliffs, unique mountains, and secluded beaches with crystal-clear waters. The area offers a diverse array of landscapes, including rugged seaboards, sheltered bays, and inland trails that lead through dense forests, high plateaus, surreal rock formations, and lush volcanic domes—all easily accessible from the coast. Roger Büdeler presents 50 varied walks catering to different preferences and levels of challenge. These range from leisurely strolls along the 'camí de ronda' to more demanding summit hikes, as well as an ecological nature trail through a unique swampland and rocky paths with enjoyable scrambles. Most routes are easy to moderately difficult, designed to be completed in half a day, allowing ample time for further exploration of the area's natural beauty, scenery, and culture.
