It explores the diverse and individualistic artistic approaches within what may appear as a homogeneous movement. Arte Povera is depicted as a transformative force, embodying hopes for social and aesthetic change through art. The analysis is structured around four main themes: the first focuses on 'time – primeval times – the history of the earth'; the second on 'primary processes – alchemy – energy'; the third on 'picture in picture – exit from the picture'; and the fourth on 'body and action.' This desire to broaden the scope of art and life led to a process-oriented approach that resisted art market appropriation. Additionally, the publication chronicles contemporary history through an extensive collection of ephemera, highlighting the sociopolitical factors that underscore the radical nature of this movement.
