Almost-authentic medium Claire and her best friend, Sophie, take on a seemingly simple job at an old manor: performing a seance for the matriarch's 80th birthday. Their friendship has endured since before Sophie went missing at seventeen. While others believe Sophie ran away, Claire knows she was murdered, as Sophie has been haunting her since. Upon arriving at the manor, they encounter a tragic ghost, clearly a victim of rage from last year's party. With Claire's obsession with crime shows and Sophie's ability to walk through walls, they decide to investigate the murder. They team up with the only seemingly innocent family members: sexy ex-policeman Sebastian and the cool non-binary teen Alex. Their investigation leads to irregular detective work, involving stealing a priest's cassock, getting too drunk to remember suspects, and Chekhov's sparkly purple dildo. As Claire struggles to hide a shameful secret that could alienate her new friends, the group must race against their own incompetence to find the murderer before they become the next victims.
