At forty, Sylvie Schiffer appears to have the perfect life in Shaker Heights: a beautiful home, two ideal teenage children, and a successful husband with a thriving luxury car dealership. Yet, she longs for passion and romance—moonlit cruises, hand-holding, and stargazing. Sylvie laments, "When you're married, you don't even get kissed on the mouth." With the twins off to college and the business flourishing, she believes it's time to rekindle her marriage. However, her world shatters when she discovers incriminating credit card receipts revealing her husband Bob's affair. Shocked and furious, Sylvie fantasizes about revenge, but her mother urges her to consider saving the marriage. Ignoring that advice, Sylvie confronts Marla, the other woman, only to find a surprising connection: Marla resembles a younger version of herself, and despite enjoying Bob's affections—flowers, hot sex, and romantic dinners—she admits to yearning for a husband and home. "When you're single," Marla sighs, "you have to smell good twenty-four hours a day." Instead of seeking revenge, Sylvie devises a clever plan to turn the situation in their favor.
