Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, a pivotal figure in modern intellectual history, was a multifaceted German philosopher and scholar who initially excelled in classical philology. At just 24, he became the youngest Chair of Classical Philology at the University of Basel. Despite health issues leading to his resignation in 1879, he produced significant philosophical works in the following decade. His life took a tragic turn in 1889 with a mental collapse, leading to years of care from family until his death in 1900.
