This is Part 1 of the books in Chinese Short Stories (学习中文短篇小说) series. In this book, we will 10 short stories (寓言故事) popular in China. Paperback- Kindle- Each book in the Chinese Short Stories series contains 10 short stories spread in 10 chapters. For the readers' convenience, a comprehensive list of vocabulary has been provided at the beginning of each chapter. The pinyin for the Chinese text is provided after the main text. English interpretation of the two stories has been included. Further, to enforce deeper learning, the English interpretation of the rest of the Chinese text (eight stories) has been purposely excluded from the books. This would help the readers think deeply about the contents the way native Chinese think. In order to help the Chinese learner remember important characters, words, long words, idioms, etc., these entities have been purposely repeated throughout the book, and across the books in the series. Taken together, the books in Chinese Short Stories will tremendously help readers improve their Chinese reading skills. All books are suitable of HSK all levels.
