By any metric, Alana has lived an incredible, difficult life. A survivor of sexual abuse, manipulative, useless husbands and the product of a repressed upbringing, she found herself working in the sex trade, giving massages and 'happy endings' to a wide-ranging cross-section of men. This is an intimate, often shocking exposé of the sex industry, showing the realities of such work and the women who make a living within it. It is the product of an, often hypocritical society, that is sex-obsessed whilst also vilifying sex work. Alana tells us how the victim is so often the sex worker, changed by the industry they work in, and the vile clients they often have to cater to. Though unlucky in love and relationships, Alana's story is ultimately a hopeful one. She has survived unbelievable hardship at the hands of capricious men to find a home in Bali, with a new spiritual life, finally able to enjoy life.
