"This book recounts select memories and incidents from Donald Schmidt's life, growing up gay as boy on Vancouver, his decision to enter Christian ministry and his time at seminary in Montreal at the beginning of the AIDS crisis, his exclusion from ministry in the early 1980s by the United Church of Canada, his flight to the US and subsequent ministry as a gay man in various US denominations, including The United Church of Christ and Methodist Church,, and his eventual return to and acceptance by the United Church of Canada.
