Macbeth

The story unfolds with a prophecy from witches that foretells Macbeth's rise to kingship, despite King Duncan naming his son Malcolm as heir. Lady Macbeth, driven by ambition, implores the gods to strip away her femininity to push her husband towards regicide. After Duncan's murder during a visit to their castle, Macbeth kills the guards to cover his tracks. As he ascends to the throne, guilt consumes him, leading to madness and haunting visions, while the witches reveal further prophecies of his impending downfall.
