Fast forward to 2019, Meghan McKenzie, the youngest reporter at the Detroit Free Press, has grown up with stories of her great-grandfather's murder, a mystery that remains unsolved with his body never found. Motivated by the Black Lives Matter movement and a desire to uncover her family's buried tragedy, Meghan travels to Birmingham. As her investigation reveals dark secrets spanning time and place, her safety becomes precarious. Inspired by true events, this narrative captures one woman's passionate quest for truth and the collective effort of a community rallying around her to confront the legacy of racial trauma and fight for change.
