Prince Morovani is a Phoenix Elf and, as far as he's aware, the only one left of his kind following an epic battle with the evil Cortal and his army, resulting in the demise of Morovani's people and home land. Only the Orb of Grath prevented Morovani from meeting the same fate as his unfortunate fellow Phoenix Elvens. Brought back to the Gardens of Natafi, he eventually regains consciousness, but much to the despair of his beloved Evynne, he doesn't remember anything about his life before the battle. Morovani slowly recuperates and re-discovers his love for Evynne, knowing that he wants to spend the rest of his life in the Gardens with her. But before settling down, he must find out more about the strange markings on his hands, and whether there are any other surviving Phoenix left.
