1909: At the World's Fair a half-Chinese boy is raffled off as a prize. Working in Seattle's famed Red Light District, he falls in love with Maisie, the daughter of a madam, and Fahn, a Japanese maid sold into servitude. In 1962 he looks back on the past and the memories he made with his wife, while his daughter begins to unravel their tragic past.
