At fourteen Simone Fleurier is sent to live a hard, impoverished life with her aunt in Marseilles. Her dream is that one day she will be a famous singer and dancer. She discovers the local music hall and soon becomes the bright light of Paris. But Nazi troops occupy the city and Simone must make a decision that will lead her into great danger.
