Valerie Solanas is an American radical feminist who is probably best known for her assassination attempt on Andy Warhol. After a difficult childhood where she was abused by her grandfather, Solanas headed to Berkley to study. There she wrote her SCUM Manifesto, which encouraged women to 'overthrow the government, eliminate the money system, institute complete automation and eliminate the male sex.'
