The Vicomte de Bragelonne

Set ten years after the events of The Three Musketeers, the story follows d'Artagnan as he resigns from the Musketeers, disillusioned with King Louis XIV. He aims to aid Charles II in reclaiming the English throne, unaware that his old friend Athos shares the same goal. Meanwhile, political intrigue unfolds in France as Louis assumes power after Cardinal Mazarin's death, and tensions rise between finance minister Jean-Baptiste Colbert and Superintendent Nicolas Fouquet.
