The Peregrination of Fernão Mendes Pinto, soldier of fortune, trader, pirate, agent, ambassador. Born around 1510, Fernão Mendes Pinto was the most articulate of the Portuguese trader-adventurers who swarmed through the Orient in the wake of Vasco da Gama.
