Set against the backdrop of Peru's tumultuous war with Shining Path terrorists, the story follows Associate District Prosecutor Felix Chacaltana Saldivar, who leads a life of routine until a gruesome murder case disrupts his world. Tasked with unraveling the mystery of a charred body marked with a cross, Chacaltana's investigation quickly spirals into danger as those he interviews begin to die mysteriously. As the plot unfolds during Holy Week, he discovers that the truth may be more personal than he ever imagined.
