Set against the backdrop of the Isle of Wight, the story follows violinist Siegmund and his young former pupil Helena as they seek a romantic escape. For Siegmund, these fleeting days represent a break from his troubled marriage, while Helena experiences a newfound sense of freedom. However, as their idyllic getaway progresses, the weight of guilt and the inevitability of reality loom over them, forcing Siegmund to confront his responsibilities to his wife and children.
